Bring me a book …

May 20, 2013

Two singers and one singing school Alumni performed at the ‘Bring Me A Book’ Mad Hatter Tea Party to help raise money to purchase books for low income families and to encourage parents to read aloud at home.

Our Vision

A world in which all children read and succeed.

The Challenge

  • Only 50% of children in low-income areas are read aloud to on a daily basis
  • One in three children enter kindergarten lacking basic pre-literacy skills
  • Two-thirds of fourth graders cannot read proficiently

Why?

  • Two-thirds of low-income families have no age-appropriate books at home
  • Most low-income childcare centers and preschools lack age-appropriate books
  • Many parents do not understand the critical importance of reading aloud

Our Mission

To provide easy access to the best children’s books and inspire reading aloud to children.

Finley performed ‘Wouldn’t It Be Loverly’, Asia performed ‘Truly Scrumptious’ and Alumni Rebecca performed ‘Tea For Two.  Three songs perfectly suited for a tea party!

If you would like to donate to this fantastic charity please do so at ‘Bring Me A Book’
